Never let me down. It's a greasy fast food spot on the west end so expectations are low but it's delicious. Fried catfish is solid, Philly cheesesteak is hard to beat, portions are huge. The flavored lemonade hits the spot in the summer. This place does it right!

Food good. Food good. Food still good. How many fucking words does a review need? For fucks sake, the Italian beef sandwich is great.

Serving up a variety of dishes--from seafood, pouktryu, sandwiches and deserts--Chicago's is a small local chain catering to it's area. This particular Chicago's is a personal favorite because of their consistency. Dishes like the Philly cheese steak, the jumbo shrimp, and the gyros will keep your mouth watering. Though you probably won't be able to finish the whole meal due to the abundance of food in each portion! I will say that the Lemonade and various other drinks can be packed with a bit too much sugar. The fried chicken and shrimp dishes use the same seasoning and spices taking away from what could possibly be a more diverse menu. Overall I'd treat myself to the sweet and salty visits at Chicago's but keep them spread out.

Chicago Steak & Lemonade has a few things going for it. It serves the West End but is not a major fast food chain, which makes it a novelty this far out on Broadway. And they offer a lot of different choices. If it's cheap, high-calorie and all-American, it's probably on the menu. I also think that despite the name, it's part of a small Louisville chain. And service is fine.

But if I'm going to eat 1200 calories of grease, I want a higher payoff. The Chicago Philly steak is kind of a soggy mess. The burger is ordinary at best. The fries a bit mealy. There might be something on the menu that stands out, but if there is, I didn't try it.
